The hum is now louder than ever?

I have just moved to a house with a veritas 8 system. It's about 4 year old. The hum is extremly loud and I would rather disconnect the system than live with it. How do I stop the hum?

Rest assured it'll be back

Thanks Johnny,
My veritas alarm has been making a humming noise for sometime now, but since tightening the screws the humming noise has stopped .

Thanks for the advise it worked a treat!

One of the problems of cheap transformers in use in alarm control panels.

"The buzzing noise is normally the transformer screws loose", not heard that one before.
Tightening the screws might give a little help but don't hold your breath.

The problem with transformer hum is the vibration of the plates held with glue that has now dried out.

The only real cure would be to replace the transformer, contact Texecom, find them on the net. (texe.com)

Hi Chris,
The buzzing noise is normally the transformer screws loose, simply remove the front from your main panel, with the mains power off of course!
Enter your code to silence alarm, re-tighten the four screws which hold the transformer in , replace the front switch on mains power , press reset , job done quiet again!
