The door to my belling dishwasher just falls open....also when I try to close it, it is very difficult. The dishwasher is an integrated appliance.

I suggest you look carefully at the catch on the door and at the receiving end on the appliance. Occasionally the bit on the door can flip over as if it were 'closed' ie engaged with the bit on the frame (even though it isn't). Using a screwdriver you may be able to flip the catch back to its normal 'open position' and then it will shut fine. Good luck
