zafira engine surge when held on footbrake?

after a self service my zafira engine revs go up and down when held on footbrake,but apply handbrake its ok.it is x reg,there was no problem before service,i have allways serviced it.

Assuming it is petrol, check you haven't disturbed the vacuum servo pipe. It's highly likely to be something you disturbed during the service.
