how do i repair a snapped bonnet release cable on a 54 punto?

The hardest part is getting the bonnet open, which is closely followed by feeding the new cable through the sleeve if you decide to make your own. You can use bycycle break cable. You need about 4 or 5 meters iirc.

Once you have the bonnet open, you can pull the old broken cable out of the black plastic sleeve. Make sure you take both ends out. Then you just fed the new cable in until it comes out of the other end next to the bonnet release pull. This isnt as easy as it sounds, you need to wiggle it about a bit to keep the cable moving through the sleve so that it doesnt snag up. Then just connect up the ends, make sure its nice and tight, and your done. I also spray a load of WD40 or other water repellant lubricant down the sleve to help protect the able in the future.

Hope that helps,
