how old is the car as renault use a number of different systems,older cars require a 4 digit code which you can enter but newer cars ,2001 on use encrypted codes and will need to go to a dealer.

go to a garage and ask them to coad read the car from this they can determan if the ecu needs changing or just reprograming but 9/10 renalts need new ecus and programming hope this helps
