how do i renew jcb fan belt - Do I need to remove the drive shaft comming of the crank pully.

Just tighten them up, and recheck them after running a few hours, you should be ok.

cheers tony for that can you advise on thread lock issue? I've just copper sliped them and tightened them up - i need to lock the shaft to fully tighten them I think.

yes you do - I removed the 4 bolts (16mm heads) and droped the yoke of the pulley.

Next question do you need to thread lock them when you reassemble?

Yes, the drive shaft go's to oil pump, so remove shaft, fit new belt, you may has I have done in the past leave a new one there for the next time.
