I have a 2003 1.2 Nissan Micra.
Can anyone tell me please if they have experienced this, my boyfriend was checking the oil and pulled out the dipstick. The tube it runs through came off when he pulled it out. Is this common with Micras.
Also do you know at what mileage the cambelt should be changed and how much it will cost. Also boyfriend said the alternator needs fixing, any ideas of cost?

My girlfriend's Micra has a broken dipstick tube, it has broken right off at the sump. How easy is it to remoce the sump and push it through?
I have foumd a new tube on e-bay for £4.99.

just found my second dipstick tube broken. replaced it myself last time but not that straight forward. no timing belt it has a chain as we discovered when ours stretched costing over £1000 to fix. what a rip off as it was only just out of warranty.

My wife has the same car, I've just taken it in for a service and been informed the dipstick is broken and needs to be replaced before they will complete the service. Does anyone know how/why this could break? I've been quoted £55.06 for the part plus 2 hours labour. Does this seem reasonable?

hi sam,dipstick tube these are only push or 1 bolt to retain not 100% sure with your car but it should not cause a problem,there's no cambelt it's a cam chain,alternator what wrong is it displaying the battery logo on dash or ? you can contact me direct at latchy@homecall.co.uk i may be able to give you a better answerif thats o.k if not,if the car is displayingthe battery logo on the dash you could be asked for £50+ just for the alternator fitting extra best of luck
