I have a 1959 live drive power major with leaking pto seal. I removed the whole bearing housing and pto shaft from the back end, but couldn't figure out how to get at the seal..... any suggestions gratefully received.

You have to tap off the plate from the bearing, the one with four holes in (on PTO shaft) then you should have the plate with oil seal in, just tap it out the best you can and refit new one, remember to install new one the right way, so take a good look at the old one before removing it...! and lubricant seal before fitting PTO shaft. if you need more help on this E-Mail me at tony@arservices.fsnet.co.uk
