How to disconnect timer on Rangemaster 110?

Hi I have a Rangemaster 110 gas oven. The timer is faulty and I can't therefore get the oven to light. I have tried re-setting it and pressing all the buttons which works sometimes, but not others.

Does anyone know who to disconnect the timer so that the oven will work? I don't want to pay £100.00 for the part, plus labour and VAT as the cooker is quite old.

Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem. I know this sounds ridiculous but the only way I get round this problem is by leaving the grill on full. After a while(sometimes takes up to an hour!!!) the timer re-set display flashes and by pressing the + button, it enables you to ignite the oven. If it flashes again, repeat the process and it SHOULD stay lit. I wrote to rangemaster and they told me the same, that it would cost £100+ labour but they also said that the timer COULD be overridden by dis-engaging the timer . I suggest you contact an elecrician for advice like I am going to.
Good Luck!

John, I think the timer controls a valve in the gas line so if you bypass it the valve will either not open anyway or will be open all the time (not good)!
