washing machine wont empty?

I have a whirlpool awm 1004

The usual cause with a machine that will not empty is something jamming the water pump impeller or blockage in the hoses but difficult as full of water.
Unplug from the mains.
The first thing would be to open the filter and check this but beware as water may suddenly rush out. How you do this depends how much water is in it.
1) Tilt machine back so water is away from the door and open the door and empty as much as you can using a cup or something then open the filter with plenty of towels around.
2) Isolate all hoses and take to the back door and tilt the machine forward then open the filter allowing the water to flow out the back door on to the path.
If this machine is similar to awm1000 you should see and be able to turn the impeller with your finger with the filter out and feel for objects.
If the pump is not turning it may be faulty.
While I am typing this I am just about to tackle my awm1000 as it was making a noise when spinning and hope the drum bearings are alright.
Incidentally another tip when diconnecting internal hoses is to remember what may get wet when that hose is removed if water in it (other than yourself). It takes very little water to damage electrics including expensive motors.
