The speed control on my Rover 200 1398cc does not operate until it gets to the 3rd position what can I do to rectify this.

heater fan speed is achieved by a resistor block usually located in the heater assembly itself, as you select a position on the switch a resistance will be applied, resulting in variable airflow, replacing this resistor will solve your problem good luck r dalton
