Rover 45 heater problem?

I have a Rover 45 turbo diesel 2002, the heater only blows cold air, cannot find any coolant leaks, engine temperature normal, system has been pressure tested, what could it be?

to be fair the fitting of the resistor pack is truly a 15 minute job, Howeverthe cleaning then soldering of the coils as they arive is definatly more so. so fiddly and took 2 hours to sort, then 5 mins to fit.
in the cases of the fans working fine this is a coolant/ pressure issue/airlock
best way to sort this is to remove the filler cap and run the engine up to temp, you will see bubbles and the level drop then the heat will improve.
if not then you may need to bleed the system

hi, i have rover 45 and the heating/ ventilation blower switch speed control only works on number 3 and 4. setting 1 & 2 are defunct. have inspected and tested the blower switch and it is mechanically sound and working correctly but the heating will only actuate from number 3. can you please advise? is it a fuse or relay problem? have no idea where to proceed. please advise. thank you.

My heater fan is making a noise when i put it on, do you think this could be the resistor

I used the people at www.rezpax.com They manufacture replacement open coil resistors that exactly matches the fan speeds of the original coils. The ceramic coils that some sell will not last and have mis-matched fan speeds.
And there website says they will repair it for you if you cannot solder.

Behind the glove box there is a resistor pack which I suspect is blown... this regulates the temperature at which the air is expelled through the vents.

Go to eBay and search for heat resistor pack rover and fit it yourself... takes 15 minutes mate at most.
