did i hook something up wrong?

I have two mowers. A mtd yard pro with a 18hp twin motor, an older craftsman. I stripped the craftsman of motor and wiring and transfered all the wiring and motor to the craftsman frame from the yard pro. The motor slowly cranks and acts like battery is dying. Won't even turn over faster with a jump. Am I missing something? I know the 18hp twin from the yard pro works. Please Help!!

Most likely the blade or transmission clutch is dragging. Check the engine is free to rotate.
