Foot pedal problem with Frister and Rossman Cub 4?

Having worked perfectly for years, the foot pedal is now always delivering full power to the machine even when it is not depressed (checked with test screwdriver). Inside the pedal all looks OK. Any ideas what might be wrong please?

I have a cub 4 and the wiring in the pedal connector to the machine had come loose. Please can you tell me the order of the wires ie which colours go where.

Light on machine works when plugged in but not foot pedal.

Thanks for your help

It looks like I need to do this but can you explain why 'they are not needed these days'?

Thank you so much drivewithken! Worked with my ancient machine

Many thanks Ken. I had the same problem this morning and you solved it. The component to disconnect is the supressor capacitor.

hi , I had that problem too and solved it by splicing another make of foot pedal to the cable. Its very easy and works fine... I've now got another problem with my Cub 4 and need to know of a place where I can get spares for this old but lovely, efficient machine. Do you have any ideas? Thanks

Hello John,
The suppressor in the control has blown, it looks like a fuse, take it out and discard, they are not needed these days.
