I've got the same problem, you have to remove the seat. There are four bolts holding the seat down. The stalk seems to be attached to inside rail by a torx bolt. I believe then you'll be able to see how the rails are attached to the floor pan and remove the inside one. You can then get access to the bolt. It's connected to the wiring so that it can detect when it clipped in. You'll have to disconnect this as well. I'm at the moment trying to source a stalk without having to remove one from a car at the breakers. Let me know if you find a cheap one and how you get on
