how can I bleed the clutch of my Ford KA?

It seems that the clutch is not working to its full range even though the pedal goes through its full stroke. The gears are tending to catch when I try to engage them. It feels as though the bite point is at the very bottom of the clutch travel

Hi,
Best way is to find a friend! And use a brake bleeding kit, its similar to bleeding the brakes, the bleed nipple is on the top of the clutch housing, put the kit on the nipple but hold it vertical and release the nipple gently till the fluid comes up the pipe.

then lock it off,

put the end of the tube into a container and get the friend to sit in the car and pump the pedal about six times quite fast and to hold the pedal down on the seventh time and then release the nipple again - careful cos it will be under pressure and spurt out make sure the friend keeps their foot on the pedal and lock it off, that normally cures any air in the system.

be careful cos you need to keep the fluid topped up in the reservoir, if it s still grating the gears the next thing is the clutch has gone!!!
