renault Laguna RN 1.8?

I've got a Laguna with a central locking system but the system doesn't work and I'm trying to open the boot.

try going into car and locking car with the button beside the handbrake that should open all the doors and boot.

I've had this, I'm guessing it happened during a wet spell.
The remote control receiver is in the roof lining above the rear view mirror and directly below the aerial. The seal between the roof and aerial has probably been disturbed and the remote control receiver is probably flooded with water as a result.
The key should enable you to open one of the doors manually (if your locks are anything like mine they probably don't work very well, you'll just have to be persistant), once in its a simple job to remove the receiver from the car, take it into the house and dry it out. Details of how to remove it are in the Haines manual.
