How can I fix my Prestige Deco Cordless Kettle?

My kettle still lights up when switched on, however the kettle no longer boils the water. A small amount of smoke appeared once before this, however I switched off the power when this happened. Any idea if this can be fixed or do I need to buy a new one? I opened the kettle to take a look but can't see any burnt parts, I assume the base is still ok.

I have the same kettle which has just stopped working. The light comes on but won't boil. Had a look on internet and have discovered certain batches of these kettles have been recalled.

If your kettle is from batch 1206 to 1107 (first 2 digits represent the month, second 2 digits represent the year of manufacture) then you should contact Prestige (Meyer Group) on 0800 6121 405. You will find the batch code inscribed on the base of your kettle.

Mine is 1007, so I will be calling Monday morning!
