getting a Z or X reading on Samsung ER 4615?

I have a key which is marked Z and enables me to turn to Z, but when I press any key to read, I just get an error message. this happens even when I press the total or subtotal button in Z mode

Hi.
It depends which reports you want.
Common ones are:

1 subtotal (financial report)
3 subtotal (PLU report)
6 subtotal (daily sales report)

If the key is on X, then the report will be a read only.
If the key is on Z, then the report will reset for the next day.
