I have just purchased a 2nd hand Bernina 830 Record which works great except when I wind the bobbins the needle goes up and down despite loosening the wheel. Can anyone advise what I can do to rectify this?

Thanks but I don't know where the balance wheel would be or what it should look like! I'm a learner when it comes to sewing machine technology. Can you explain further maybe? Thanks

Hello Jennifer,
The topsshaft under the balance wheel is dry, take the top off the machine and you should see a small oil hole just left of the nalance wheel, if not spray some WD40 inside the balance wheel from the top of the machine, if thatb does not work you may need to take the balance wheel off, if you need to do that email me below and I will give you instructions.
