My 1997 2.5 mondeo speedo stops wokind from time to time, it seems to be linked to the fuel light going on and off. Help

i dont know about the fuel light but the speedo cable is in 2 parts the top part that goes in to the speedo is about 12in long and platic (inner bit) this sometimes starts to break up very easy to change mine cost £5 from a scrap yard complete. i hope this helps.
