Most likely cause is there is still air in the fuel system. Slacken off the injector pipes at the fuel injectors. Make sure it is in neutral, and crank the engine over on the starter motor. When you start to see some diesel coming out around a pipe union, stop the engine and retighten that pipe. By the time you have fuel from two or three pipes, tighten up all the pipes. Try starting the engine. It may need a bit of cranking, and when it does start will probably run a little rough for a few seconds until the last of the air has bled out.
