jammed radiator fan, ford fusion 2007?

The radiator fan on my 2007 1.6td Fusion is jammed on, disconnected the cable overnight but as soon as I reconnected the cable the fan cut in again (without the engine running)

Thanks, yes the relay is located behind the glovebox.

Have tried it but it doesnt get hot, fan works even after the relay is removed, have removed the fuse but the fan still works evem after removing the key.

The only way I can stop it is to disconnect the elec. cable.

Car runs ok with it disconnected, doesnt overheat & the heater still works fine.

sounds like a relay stuck- not sure where they are located but may be behind glovebox . check to see if any are hot [which means that they have been on a long time] and remove to see if fan stops, this of course is with battery connected.
