hi peter, this will save you £70+ at the bottom of the dishwasher (behind the plinth if its built in ) there are 2 brown plastic plates ,remove them and you can see inside the unit there will be a puddle of water this needs to be soaked up and the area dryed best you can there is a polistyrine float which connects to a cut out switch as the puddle rises causing your e4 error, dry it out and restart your program for clean dishes hope this helps you . good luck
