How do I replace the wing mirror on my 1998 Ford Escort?

How do I replace the drivers side manual wing mirror on my 1998 Ford Escort?

I already explained it JJ.

What part of "CANNOT remove the mirror without first removing the interior door trim" do you not understand?

Lee, June 2009
You CANNOT remove the mirror without first removing the interior door trim.

1. Undo the screw holding on the plastic trim around the door release handle (it is usually hidden behind a plastic cap) and remove the trim.

2. Remove the screw from the door pull (closing) handle (the screw is located downwards in the middle of the handle).

3. Remove the screw securing the plastic door pocket at the front (it is hidden behind a plastic cap that you prise out).

4. Remove the screws around the edge and underneath the door trim. Pull the trim upwards, release and set aside.

5. Unscrew the plastic ring located around the mirror adjusting lever.

6. Remove the screws holding on the black triangular shaped trim and remove it.

You will now see the small bolts holding on the mirror. Undo them and remove the mirror assembly. |Reverse this procedure to fit new mirror.

I have given instructions based on my own '96 Ford Escort 16v. Yours may differ very slightly but I'm sure that any differences will be minor.

the bolts to take it off are usually located under the plastic piece inside the car......pop it off dont force it and the bolts are under there...good luck
