Ford ka Misfire/chugging?

Hi,

My engine warning light came on recently on my 53 plate ford ka collection. took it to the garage who said that it was a misfire and change the spark plugs (x4) and the ignition coil.

I've got the car back, and the warning light has gone off, but the car is driving similarly to how it was before and chugs every now and then.

I dont want to go back to the garage as there's no warning lights on and i'll look stupid saying my car is chugging, and they'll probably rip me off too.

Anybody any ideas please?

Thanks.

My girlfriends Ford Ka 1.3i 1999 has got the same problem and changed the plugs but no different, i would try replacing leads and ignition coil for missfire which is also my next step.

Also is chugging and garage think it could be that the inlet manifold has warped and is sucking in too much air making it glugg. However this can obviously be quite expensive to fix.

I'd change plug leads. Same prob happened with my wifes 05 1.3 duratec KA. Was the leads.

Sounds like the air flow meter.. this happened to my girlfriends car and was a cheap easy fix.
Hope this helped

Did you take your car and ask them to fix the problem?
If you did then they haven't done what you asked for and presumably have paid for, take it back and tell them it's not right even though they said it was fixed and that you expect them to get it right.
Be polite and they should do it free of charge.

I never charge a customer if I said a car is fixed and it isn't. Thats my fault not the customers.
