ford 2002 gear change?

i have a similar problem the gears change only into 3rd and 4th. no others. the gear lever has gone very stiff. can any one advise thank you

no crunching it goes into neutral ok and moves up to 3rd and down to 4th only ok

its the gear linkage or synchro between the 3rd and fourth gears... does it crunch when selecting these gears??
