is it possible to change the barrel and transceiver over without having to have the immobiliser reset or does it automatically do it

The transceiver only reads the chip in the key the immobiliser is either a seperate box or part of the ecu and as such will have to be reprogrammed with diagnostic kit or you could remove the chip from your old key and glue/tape it inside the cowl near the transceiver so the immobiliser is permanently de-activated
