loveseat recliner, you have to kick with your feet to get it to close?

We got this very nice looking and heavy double recliner leather (loveseat) off of craig's list. I couldn't find the make on it. I have s/n and other numbers on the bottom side of foot rest. When you try to close it with your legs it is hard and you have to stand up and literally kick it with your foot to get it to stay closed. Also when you stretch out on it, when both sides are extended the whole loveseat tilts forward and the foot rests hit the floor. It was made in 1999 and it is a pebbgree wall hugger LV4803. It was hardly used and looks great and I now know why. My husband wants to put something on the front side underneath to prevent it from tilting and we have no idea how to get it to close easier. Do you know what brand it is and how we could possibly fix both issues?

I called Omega and even though my model is older they had someone there who could explain to me about it. When the chair gets older they don't need both of the back springs. You do need both of the front springs. The back ones are the bigger springs. You turn it over the loveseat and have it fully reclined and you will be able to take off one of the back springs for each side of the love seat. For the tipping forward he said that if both are in full recline then one person has to come up before any of you adjusts themselves otherwise it tilts. He also suggested that you could put a leg underneath the front side on the common wall (the middle wall underneath of the loveseat) where the recliner mechanism is attached since the front legs are so far back. He also said that to double the life of the recliner you need to put bearing oil one drop each year on the rivets underneath. That will help prevent breaking down some sort of plastic washer I think he said. Also put lithium grease on this tube that has this wheel that spins that goes across the bottom under the seat. It is located further back. I just found out about this and have yet to do all this but will update after this weekend.
