Opel Vectra 1.6 16v 1998?

Compression of engine as folows:
1.piston 13.5
2. piston 8.0
3. piston 10.5
4.piston 9.5

My car losing oil 1l on 1000 miles.
What I should to do? What is compression at new engine of this model?

P.S. Sorry because of my bad English.

is it an interferance engine or noninterferance

Thank you nigel!

I wonder how it's possible for 1.piston pressure is 13.5 and for 2.piston pressure is 8.0 bar. How could happend for 1.piston to remain almost in full condition but others go so bad?!

Hi, the compression depends on the engine code, X16XEL 12~15 bar, X16SEJ 15~17 bar, try putting a little bit of oil into the cylinders and test the compression again if the pressure goes up it would indicate worn pistons/piston rings if it remains the same it would point to a cylinder head problem either the head gasket or worn valves
