what is my problem vauxall corsa?

i checked my oil 2day and on the oil cap there is a creamy gunge wot is this caused by? is this expensive to correct?

If you're doing only short journeys you get emulsification in the cold winter weather. Clean off the mayo with a rag, and carry out oil and filter changes more frequently - at least once a year. Try to give the car a longer run from time to time.

Sounds like you have a head gasket gone.

Hi Ann, the white gunge is often an indication that the head gasket has failed! but if you are only doing short journeys it can be condensation in the engine mixing with the oil as the engine is'nt getting hot enough to evaporate the condensation, take it to any decent garage and ask them to do a "sniff" test this will show if the head gasket has failed
