flymo venturer 420xl petrol lawnmower with electric start 4.0hp?

could any one thell me the engine number for this please i cant find mine??
dave, January 2009
Most likely it is a Tecumseh Venturer engine. If so the numbers will be stamped in to the sump casing or on a small silver tag on one of the engine mount bolts.

Only Briggs engines stamp into the cowl, and I believe this model had the Tecumseh engine.

They're clever if they can tell someone what their unique engine numbers are.

I guess what you're asking is where you find the engine numbers of your engine- is that correct?

If so, then depending on the age, but most have the engine number stamped in the leading edge of the metal top recoil housing at the front just above where the spark plug protrudes (you may need to tip the mower back and peek under any cosmetic plastic top engine covers. If it's not there, then it will be stamped in the lip of the top metal recoil cover just above the exhaust on the left hand side as you're standing behind the mower. It will be a sequence of three distic blocks of numbers.

As engine numbers are unique to each engine it would be impossible for anyone else but you to know them.
