i have a electrolux epic 8000. When i plug it in and push the button up and down on the handle it dose nothing. There is a light showing there is no bag. this is correct. will it not start or make any kind of sound if there is not a bag in the canister? I am out of bags, and have no intentsion of running it with out one but i stopped the hose up with the stair attachment on . when i uncloged and pulled the full bag out(not knowing i had used my last bag) I plug the vac back in it would not do anything. would there be a reset button or somthing simple first that i could do to fix this. will it start without a bag in it (I hope)

Correct, it will not run without a bag. There is a safety switch in the front of the bag compartment that will open the motor circuit if no bag is in the canister.
