The detergent dispenser on my Bosch shx56b does not open all the time during the wash cycle. Do I need to replace the dispenser to fix this or is there another sensor, etc that typically fails to cause this!

sounds like detergent dispencer fault.make sure the tablets are not to big making the latch under pressure.unless you use pre washing programs throwing the tablet on the filter in the base is a cheap option/fix.
