Olpran Elliptical Trianer- Can't reassemble?

My elliptical trainer was making metal grinding noises. I disconnected the magnetic wheel and the 'fan belt' now I can't re-fit the 'fan belt'. There is no point on the machine to relieve the tension, it is all solid. Help!
