can my dishwasher be repaired?

I have a 2 drawer fisher & paykel dishwasher model DD603.Ordinary washing up liquid was put in the top drawer instead of dishwasher powder whereupon the F1 code was displayed. At first the bottom drawer still worked but now that is also displaying F1. I rang a repair company who told me to run the dishwasher with powder in. I tried this but no water seems to be entering the machine so it is not going to flush out the soap. The repair company now says I might as well buy a new machine. Is this my only option?

Some service companies should not be in business. If they can't fix a simple fault such as this or are too lazy to try they should give up the business. If I were you I would diconnect the drain hose from under the sink & put the end down into a bucket. Get someone to hold it while you slowly pour clean water into the top drawer & let it empty by gravity in to the bucket until it runs clear. Then put hose back on to pipe work under sink. Next make sure bottom tray under the bottom drawer is completely dry as any moisture here will bring up the F1 code. Once dry and the F1 code is gone then try running the drawer on power. Any problems give me an e-mail.
