AC Power only?

I bought a Mini Laptop from Pc World and its a Month old. Yesterday when we went to turn it on it was dead so we thinking the battery was flat we connected the AC Power And it Started up ok.
The Battery status shows battery fully charged but when you take the AC Power lead out the laptop turns off.
My Question is is there two keys you press to turn battery function on as the same to turn on network connection or is there a fault with the Laptop.
Pc world unable to help and want to send back to manufature.

Unplugging the ac power should not disable a laptop.

You need to tell PC World that if they don't comply with the law. (Sale of Goods Acta and Supply of Goods and Services Act.) you are going to take them to court (Small Claims).

In the UK faulty goods are the responsibility of the RETAILER, NOT the manufacturer. Additionally during the first six months it is up to the retailer to prove that the goods are NOT faulty not the customer prove that they are!

As PC World have already, in my opinion, treated you badly I would take it back. Demand the see the manager. Explain what you have been incorrectly told by his/her staff and demand a refund - to which you are entitled in law. Keep the threat of the Small Claims Court in reserve.
