I need to reinstall win xp on my brothers computer (tower unit), how do i go about it? His desktop is showing, but i've already discovered its full of trojans.
I don't just stick in the cd do i? Is there a key to press on boot up?

for full instructions see www.windowsreinstall.com they have screen by screen description on how this is done.

The only tricky thing is to make sure the system boots from CD.

before doing it download superantispyware or something like it and see if it won't clean it.

Backup any files.

Stick the WiXP CD in the drive.

Switch on.

Follow instructions.

Install AV software.

Check backups for infection.
