Whirlpool t/dryer latch won't work?

New latch & spring fitted but door doe not stay closed.
How does one increse tension for spring and latch so the door stays closed

They are renown for being useless.

Make sure you havnt fitted the part upside down (easy to do)
If both pieces (inner frame and door) are new, there is no reason they shouldnt marry up and work correctly
