why is the motor so noisy? Zanussi upright freezer Model 3500?

The noise level of the motor has got more noticeable recently - its a very high-pitched, shrill sound that bothers my ears.
Zanussi 3500 upright freezer - still works well and looks as good as new

there is no real answer to this other than to say the motor has become noisy and may be early signs of failure although there is no way of telling!
