Belling ceramic hob?

Can you please advise if a belling cooker with ceramic hob can just chip and crack if apparently nothing has been dropped on it?

Yes. A chip appeared in the corner of our hob unit, only for it to extend to a full crack to the other corner two months later.
Will need to buy new cooker now. No way to mend this exsists
Marvellous

i aslo have had a chip, about half a centimetre appear in my new (sniff...) belling ceramic hob.

I am guessing that it happened when some burnt food on the bottom of my pan made contact with the surface.. but that cant be reason enough, I have been using glass hobs for years and never seen such an easily damaged surface!

i suggest that if others have had this problem that they add to this forum. it is the only way you can build up a strong enough argument against belling.

I will check this forum every couple of days to see if anyone is googling this topic
