how to stop the ignition on my gas cooker?

When I was cleaning the surface of my gas cooker, the ignition started to turn on (making noises and sparks), but the control button still on off position, I had to turn the main plug off to stop the ignition. Could you tell me what is wrong with that and could I fix that? Do I need to get someone in and is there any danger of gas leaking or other hazard? It's a Bosch gas cooker and using electric to ignit the fire.

Possibly just water across the microswitch.Leave it to dry out and it should sort itself. No worries.
