Do induction hobs scratch easily ? Is there a way to prevent it happening ?

I am thinking of buying an induction hob and after looking at some i am concerned that it may scratch easily. Is this the case? Is there a way to prevent it happening?

She asked about an induction hob not a ceramic one - completely different.

yes they do scratch over time and no there isn't any way of stopping this other than being extra careful when putting pans on it and when lifting them off.all spills must be wiped off straight away or they will fuse into the glass and cause them to look awful!.if you are a heavy cook ceramic hobs are not the way to go.they look good and work well but you can't move the pans like you can on a gas cooker.no professional cook would be seen dead with one in there kitchen!
