How can I fix my Peugeot 101 moped?

Peugeot 101, runs not very well - think it is a problem with the carburettor - does anyone know how this can be regulated?

Hi Rex!
I also have a 101. Are you sure it is a carburettor problem. I discovered that the metal fuel tank rusts a lot, with the result the carburettor gets gunged up easily. The carb' has a built-in filter which blocks easily. Also, there is a filter in the tank as part of the fuel on/off tap. In addition, the float chamber is very sensitive (the float needle gets stuck in the closed position too often, thus not allowing fuel to flow readily). As an observation, the build quality and design of the carburettor (choke cable fixing and the throttle cable fixing) is highly dubious!!!). I would be favour of changing the whole carburettor assembly for another from perhaps a 103 or 104.
Try this and/or let me know your thoughts. I have a few more possible solutions.
However, try and explain in a little more detailed about your diagnostic method. There might be something you overlooked en-route to deducing you might have a carburation problem.
Best regards and good luck.
