my 2 year old has broken the phone! Have 2 cordless phones which keep flashing base 1 and wont make outgoing calls. How can I reset them?

I have exactly the same problem, it started yesterday!!! No luck fixing it yet.

press ok button: voice mail
press down button 3 times: Register
press ok button: pin code
enter pin code: 0000
press ok to confirm: searching
at the same time press and hold the page button on the bottom of base
if it worked the LC D screen will say sucess and then shows the standby display if it failed it says to try again till it works
