This is a very deadly worm, but removal is VERY simple and easy.
The Kido Worm (Recycler/autorun.inf) is a very serious network worm that quickly infects PCs on a network,and/or through use of USB devices. It interfaces with up to 500 servers and runs malware/DDoS processes using your PC/network, causing huge traffic demands (and subsequent) performance/workload slow downs. It also disables standard mounting of portable media (although this can be by-passed by using r-mouse/explore command).
NOTE: Linux and Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME operating systems can’t be infected with this network worm! This is impossible (unless you run it with Wine app). For these systems, simply mount and remove (delete) the "Recycler" folder (and its contents) and the autorun.inf file from any USB drives. The W95/98/ME immunity makes these operating systems a safe tool for cleaning USB drive sand (if the OS is capable of mounting the drives). Then use the tool below to disinfect the W2K or WXP system.
REMOVAL:
A special utility "KK.exe" (Kido Killer) should be used to remove this worm. You will find the FREE download and instructions on this KASPERSKY web site:

There is a lot of apocrypha here. Two answers actually refer you to sites for installing malware that supposedly removes this, but in actuality is far worse than this worm! When seeking advice on virus/worm infections, always weigh the messenger!
