I have put Petrol into my diesel Picasso!?

I have put petrol into my hubbys diesel picasso, I know its stupid but I driven it about a mile or 2 before I realised, How do we drain the tank?? Will it be ok?

oh dear.i did the same in my new diesel merc.as mentioned if only small amount like mine then top up with diesel and will be fine.engine damage is rare but fuel pump can suffer due to lack of lubrication from the diesel.sometimes the seals in the fuel pump can fail after a period of time, maybe a year or more.i dont wish to scare you but that can happen and can be expensive to fix.but a garage is best to change fuel as there is no way of disposing of it.on a good note wagon drivers use to add petrol to diesel to give the engine a boost

Depends how much petrol you've put in? If only a couple of pounds worth, then fill to the brim with diesel & you'll be ok. If you've put in a large amount, you'll have to have tank drained.

you will need to get it to a garage so they can drain it and see what damage you might of done to the engine, if you would like more info or the job done please email me at 14of15@genie.co.uk
