I have a Renault Megane 2 Sport Tourer(2005),and the front passenger indicator failed. After reading how to change it via my Haynes manual,I removed the front wing mudsheild, even took the wheel off to give me more room.
Even so,try as I might,I just couldn't seem to get enough room to get the bulb out.
I could feel the end of it,but that's all.
The solution?
I returned to Halfords, where I bought the new bubs originally, and they fitted a new bulb for £3.99,and they did it in about 20 minutes!
They did concede that Renaults were a "bit awkward",hence £3.99,instead of the normal £2.99.but otherwise,no problems!
It's just not worth the hassle of doing it yourself!
