I hope you did not go in there with a sledge hammer and attempt to bust up that cast iron tub. You can rent you a sawsall from a rentall store and buy you some good emergency cut off blades (home depot or lowes has them) for it,get at least 6 or 7 blades, then proceed to cut the tub out making sure you shut off the water and disconnect the drain and overflow. Once you have it out you will need to move the drain to the center of your shower opening so when you put in your kit your drain will line up , but other than tht there is nothing to it

If your bath is cast iron they are extremely heavy. I used a sledge hammer to break it up. Make sure you use an old blanket or towels to protect mirrors, whb, toilet and above all WEAR GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE GEAR (such as a boiler suit and helmet). There is a possibility that slivers of metal may fly. A sledge hammer makes very easy meat of the breaking up process. The pluming can be disconnected in normal way, just to remember to shut off hot and cold water supplies from header tank.

Hope this is of use to you
