speedo?

How do i fit a new speedo cable to my aprilia rally. I thought i done it but speedo not working

take cable off speedo. spin front wheel to see if speedo cable turning. if turning put it back on speedo and disconect from wheel, spin inner cabble with fingers and check speedo working. if ok reconnect.
